What: 5 Bedroom 8 Bath (6 full 2 half) 8,000 square foot Custom Estate Built in 2007 situated on a 2+ acre parcel with pool and detached garage/guesthouse.
Where: Beverly Hills off of Benedict Canyon:
Why: We loved it from the driveway. The details are amazing. The owner is a designer and created a lot of the fixtures personally just for this residence. I think we responded to the modern clean lines with a nod to the Californian Mediterranean. It is clearly new but looks like it belongs. The lot is equally fantastic with a green canyon view – not a lot of houses on the facing hillside so it feels both expansive and private. A happy marriage of classic comfort and modern design features.
Highlights: Great proportions, lots of volume – two story public room, good light, private, gated, dramatic pool, and a terrific view.
What it will run you: Listed for $15mil

If we’ve helped you find a property, you’ve been through the ‘make a list of features you want in a house’ exercise. Then we tell you that you won’t get everything on your list. Well if Cave is on your list we take it back – you can have it. Yesterday at a charming house on Wonderland in Laurel Canyon we found your cave.
The cave is a man made marvel – you enter through a storybook wooden door in the hillside. Inside there are faux rock formations (including some stalactites and stalagmites) and overhead lighting. Lots of fuel for the imagination. Rumor has it there are two other properties with caves on the street.
This property is a two bedroom two bath with wonderful colors and details. Eco-friendly, modern updates and work at home potential. Listed for $898,000. Photos from The MLS. Seller Represented by Teles Properties.
Become a Landlord and Walk to Cantaloop
A lot of us have some angry memory of a leaking faucet/broken refrigerator/freezing shower/etc in a crap rental from our past. We shook our fist at the sky and swore if we were the landlord we’d keep everything from falling apart, we’d keep it nice and painted and actually care if the tenants were happy. Well here’s your chance to right the karmic wrongs of your rental past.
This pretty building has eight 1 bed, 1 bath units (just listed for $1.6mil). It is called ‘The Dorothy’ which must mean living there makes you want to be home. It is on El Cerrito right by the intersection of La Brea and Hollywood Boulevard. That’s a fun bonus – every time you stop by to check on your building you can get Cantaloop. Would that make your yogurt fix tax deductible – hmmm… check with your accountant on that one.

Mid-Century Modern Masterpieces
We love mid-century modern architecture & we love Edward H. Fickett’s quintessential representation of indoor-outdoor California living. We were thrilled today to see two of his homes on the market, off Mulholland Drive northwest of Runyon Canyon. They both have the flow and natural light that we’ve come to expect in a Fickett home, but the lush landscaping on this property really made it stand out:
If you want to see either of these, give us a call:
Brentwood Mid Century Modern
Why is Mid Century Modern so popular? Open floor plan, clean lines and indoor-outdoor living are a few reasons. This 5 bedroom house in Brentwood has all three plus a huge lot and direct access to Crestwood Hills Park.
