2008-2009 second installment property tax payments will be accepted without penalty if payment is received or postmarked on or before April 10th, 2009.

Did you guess amusement park? That’s what the huge hulking shrine to consumerism we know as the Beverly Center used to be…
During the 40’s a traveling circus left some children’s rides behind on the corner of Beverly Boulevard and La Cienega. Later, a ferris wheel, roller coaster, merry go-round, and pony ride were added. By 1945, “Beverly Park” was in fully swing – a 1940’s Six Flags. It is rumored that Walt Disney would bring his children there and these visits were part of his inspiration for opening the Disney theme parks. The amusement park closed in 1974 and the Beverly Center opened in 1982 – no pony rides, just escalators.
