New Year's Resolutions be Darned…It's Time for dineLA!
It’s somewhat of a cruel irony that dineLA comes right as our inner fortitude to keep to New Year’s diet resolutions to starts to wane. Right?
When faced with the opportunity to, say, go to Connie & Ted’s and for 45 dollars enjoy a feast of epic proportions including fried oysters, a lobster roll, fish & chips and ice cream. It makes sticking to your resolution guns a bit challenging.
But we come bearing good news! Whether you decide to remain true to your New Year’s plan or abandon it like a hot buttered potato you can still enjoy dineLA.
We are in LA after all and this year’s dineLA includes not only indulgent options, there are some delectable AND healthy ones including Cafe Gratitude (Larchmont or Venice), AKASHA, and Gracias Madre.
So which ever road you choose, go out an enjoy this awesome dining extravaganza!

Fun Event Alert: LA Art Show
Looking for something fun AND cultural to do this weekend? Then head down to LA Convention center for the 20th Annual LA Art Show!
This sprawling event–200,000 square feet/ 120 galleries / 22 countries/ 20,000 works of art–is truly not to be missed.
And while some of the pieces may be on par with buying a nice house in Silver Lake, know that there are also a lot deals to be made…particularly if you go on closing day, Sunday, in the afternoon. Galleries may be a little more flexible on price when they are faced with the prospect of shipping home an unsold work!
The show runs Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 11-5. Ticket are 15 dollars per day and can be purchased HERE
Skating into 2015!
Ice Skating may not be synonymous with Southern California, but this winter there are some great options for anyone–like ourselves–who wants to glide like angels across the ice…or at least just try to stay up and not fall on their ‘assets’.
First up is the beautiful rink set up in Downtown’s LA’s Pershing Square. Open through January 19th–even on December 31st and January 1st–you can skate among the downtown skyscrapers and pretend you’re a world away. Skates are available for rental and there are even skate helpers for young skaters. Buy tickets and find out more by clicking HERE!
Not to be outdone by Downtown-proper, Downtown Santa Monica’s skate rink–ICE at Santa Monica is also open through January 19th.
Just blocks to the beach, you can create a magical winter experience for the whole family. There are still spots in their skating classes and on January 4th, 11th and 18th there are hockey clinics put on by the LA Kings for kids ages 5-14. Click HERE for more information
So go forth and get your triple lutz on!
What a Night!
Thank you to everyone who came out to Stout Hollywood to celebrate the holidays with us on Tuesday night! Not only was it a blast but we filled up Fire Station 27′s Toys for Tots donation baskets and then some!
Toys for Tots is very close to our hearts, but we would also like to share with you another very important initiative. The massive fire in downtown LA early in the week not only destroyed an apartment building under construction, but also decimated a storage of over 2000 gifts designated for at-risk seniors.
Mayor Garcetti and his wife Amy Elaine Wakeland are rallying people to come together and replace the giftbags so these frail seniors won’t have to go without.
The Garcettis have purchased 25 gift bags and we have contributed as well. In case you’re looking a cool present, why not give a gift bag to a senior instead buying your friend that box of chocolate that they will only curse you for after they’ve eaten it. Click for more info!
